12 New Primary Health Centres Approved, 144 Medical Posts Sanctioned to Boost Rural Healthcare

Raipur/ In a major push to strengthen healthcare services in rural and tribal areas, the state government has approved the establishment of 12 new Primary Health Centres (PHCs) along with the sanction of 144 new medical and support staff posts. The decision has been taken on the initiative of Health Minister Shri Shyam Bihari Jaiswal, in accordance with the provisions of the State Budget 2024–25.

According to official orders issued by the Health Department, the new PHCs will be set up at Korea Colliery under Chirimiri Municipal Corporation; Gram Panchayat Jaraundha in Khadgawan block; Golawand in Kondagaon block; Murma in Baikunthpur block; Sakaria village in Korea district; Sewari village in Rajpur block; Podaguda and Chintapur villages in Darbha block; Kardega village in Duldula block; Petamara (Akira) and Ganjhiyadih villages in Farsabahar block; and Keradih village in Kunkuri block.

Each of the 12 PHCs will be staffed with a complete medical team comprising one Medical Officer, one Rural Medical Assistant, one Pharmacist Grade-II, one Female Health Worker, three Staff Nurses, one Laboratory Technician, one Assistant Grade-III, one Ward Boy and two Ayas, taking the total number of newly sanctioned posts to 144.

Health Minister Shri Shyam Bihari Jaiswal thanked Chief Minister Shri Vishnudev Sai for approving the proposal and said that the expansion of healthcare infrastructure and manpower would ensure timely treatment, improved access to essential medical services and better health outcomes, especially for people living in remote and underserved regions.

The move is expected to significantly strengthen the state’s primary healthcare network and bring quality medical services closer to communities at the village level.
