Unicef Supported Sanvad-Sanskar Workshop Held at District Collectorate
Jashpur | A one-day Sanvad-Sanskar workshop was organised at the District Collectorate Auditorium under the joint aegis of the District Administration, UNICEF, Alliance for Behaviour Change, and Sarvhitam. The workshop focused on expanding community-based initiatives such as “Roop Nahi Gun,” “Padhai Ka Kona,” and “Aaj Kya Seekha” across villages in Jashpur district.
District Collector Rohit Vyas appreciated all the ongoing programmes and said these quality initiatives are significantly contributing to Jashpur’s overall development. He encouraged the youth present to bring forward innovative ideas and actively engage with the administration for the district’s progress.

DIG Dr. Lal Ummed Singh, while addressing the youth, assured full cooperation from the district police in all development efforts. He said that with the support of educated youth, focused initiatives would be undertaken to curb rising substance abuse, prevent child marriage, and address indifference toward education in the district. He also promised to organise larger programmes in collaboration with Jai Ho Volunteers.
Manish Singh, State Nodal In-charge of the Alliance for Behaviour Change, highlighted that adolescence is a phase of both physical and mental development. He stressed that all adolescent-focused programmes must be implemented together for meaningful impact. He appealed to the youth to work sequentially on four processes: Lok Sampark (public outreach), Lok Sangrah (community engagement), Lok Sanskar (value building), and Lok Niyojan (community planning).
While presenting the programme outline, Yogesh Purohit, State Coordinator of Agricone, addressed the issue of exam fear among youth and explained the structure and objectives of the day-long workshop.
During the workshop, a detailed action plan was prepared to implement activities across 30 selected village panchayats. Narendra Sinha, District Project Officer, Samagra Shiksha, assured District Collector Rohit Vyas of full cooperation from the education department in executing the plan.
Earlier, the workshop was inaugurated with the lighting of the ceremonial lamp by DIG Dr. Lal Ummed Singh, Narendra Sinha, Manish Singh, and Yogesh Purohit.
Throughout the day, technical sessions were conducted on Padhai Ka Kona, Aaj Kya Seekha, and Roop Nahi Gun, with detailed discussions on the participation of volunteers, parents, communities, and teachers.
The programme was coordinated by Shalini Gupta, UNICEF District Coordinator. Representatives from every block of Jashpur district, including JaiHo Volunteers, teachers associated with the Samagra Shiksha project, and other officials, were present on the occasion.
