Outstanding performance in revenue, passenger amenities and safety during FY 2025–26
Zero train accidents, new train services, station development and digital initiatives bring major benefits to passengers
Raipur, April 3, 2026 | The Raipur Railway Division has recorded significant achievements in the areas of revenue generation, freight loading, passenger transport, safety, and passenger amenities during the financial year 2025–26. Addressing journalists during a press conference on Friday, Divisional Railway Manager Mr. Dayanand said that the division achieved 46.44 million tonnes of freight loading and earned ₹4,983 crore in freight revenue, registering an increase of nearly 4 percent over the previous year.

He informed that in the financial year 2024–25, the division had loaded 44.73 million tonnes and earned ₹4,818 crore in revenue. This year, the Raipur Division not only surpassed its freight target of 46.33 million tonnes, but also secured the 9th position among the top railway divisions in Indian Railways.
The division also performed strongly in the passenger segment. During FY 2025–26, it transported 26.6 million passengers, earning ₹631.35 crore in passenger revenue. Passenger traffic registered a 7.30 percent increase, while passenger earnings rose by 3.85 percent compared to the previous year. To manage additional rush during festivals, holidays, and special occasions, the division successfully operated 19 pairs of special trains covering 195 trips, ran 12 Bharat Gaurav trains, and attached 60 additional coaches to various trains.
Raipur Division also recorded growth in non-fare revenue, parking income, catering earnings, and parcel revenue. Catering income increased by 75 percent to ₹3.22 crore, parking income stood at ₹3.44 crore, and parcel revenue reached ₹7.44 crore. Altogether, the Commercial Department earned a total revenue of ₹5,663.65 crore.
Passenger convenience initiatives included progress under the Amrit Bharat Station Scheme, introduction of new train services, expansion of digital ticketing, use of body-worn cameras, establishment of emergency medical rooms, installation of photocopy machines, development of a health-based lounge, expansion of advertising spaces, and installation of a parcel scanner at Durg station.
On the safety front, the biggest achievement was that FY 2025–26 remained a zero train accident year for Raipur Division. In addition, several Road Under Bridges (RUBs), fourth-line expansion works, and platform development projects also received approval.
Mr. Dayanand said that the Raipur Railway Division will continue to move forward with the same commitment in the areas of passenger service, freight transportation, and safety. Senior Divisional Commercial Manager Mr. Avdhesh Trivedi, along with several railway officials, was also present on the occasion.
