Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai’s Meaningful Initiative Earns Global Recognition
Dudli (Balod), Chhattisgarh:Chhattisgarh has achieved a major milestone in the fight against child marriage. Under the Child Marriage-Free Chhattisgarh Campaign, Hon’ble Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Deo Sai administered a pledge to more than 15,000 people during the National Rover–Ranger Jamboree.

This large-scale pledge programme has been officially recorded in the Golden Book of World Records, bringing pride to the state.This initiative was not just an event, but a strong message against the social evil of child marriage. It reflected the Chief Minister’s commitment and sensitive leadership towards social reform and the welfare of children.

The idea for organising a mass pledge programme was first proposed last Saturday before District Programme Officer Shri Sameer Pandey. Recognising its importance, he immediately discussed the proposal over phone with District Collector Ms. Divya Umesh Mishra, who gave her approval. After this, discussions were held with Mr. Nandlal Chaudhary, Joint Director and Nodal Officer of the Child Marriage-Free Chhattisgarh Campaign, and Ms. Sonal Sharma, Head of the Golden Book of World Records, which helped in making this historic achievement possible.After the pledge ceremony conducted by the Hon’ble Chief Minister, the Golden Book of World Records certificate was formally presented to District Collector Divya Umesh Mishra and the team of the Women and Child Development Department.The programme was attended by Education Minister Shri Gajendra Yadav, senior officials of Bharat Scouts and Guides (BSG), the Divisional Commissioner, Inspector General of Police, public representatives, and senior district administration officers.This award-winning initiative under the Child Marriage-Free Chhattisgarh Campaign has emerged as an inspiring model for the entire country, showing how the government, administration, and society can work together to bring positive social change.
